Hello marketers, Damini here, and if you haven’t noticed this until now, in the past 36 months, ecommerce has completely revolutionized.
Just for an example, apps like Swiggy, Instamart, and Zepto are constantly blinking on your phone, proving the abrupt change in landscape.
Because, unknowingly, you have become a consumer of these quick ecommerce platforms.
And this change isn’t just a trend of the market; it is a combination of trends that are all set to capture the market in the next 5 years.
And as a digital marketer myself for the past 6 years, I am fully aware of these trends and how to leverage them perfectly for your business,
So, if you want to make BIG in the field of ecommerce, be sure to stick around because the trends I will share with you here will make sure that you will be ahead of 99% of your competition.
The first trend is of BNPL apps.
The usage of these apps has seen an increased curve in the Youth, aged 22-35 years.
The reason these “Buy Now Pay Later” apps are so in demand is that for today’s youth, it has become increasingly difficult to manage finances.
And I am not telling you this from my personal experience, in fact, according to research, the market size of BNPL apps has grown from,
2.8 billion in 2023 to 34.4 billion in 2030.
This implies there was a 35% year-on-year growth.
And I have seen this IRL, where 3 of my clients in Wincilble had the same products, the same price range,
But one of them used BNPL apps, and we saw that for the other two clients, people remained quite hesitant to make a purchase,
But for BNPL, they made seamless payments, and the reason is,
Psychologically, we are much more comfortable spending money and paying later than paying up front.
So, if you have an e-commerce business, try to integrate BNPL in your business, and you are guaranteed to see an upward growth.
In my opinion, to integrate BNPL on e-commerce websites, the best feature is one-click checkout, because it favours recurring customers as they can make a payment without entering OTP or card details, hence increasing the user experience.
So if you want to integrate Cashfree in your website, here’s the application I use.
And with that, let’s move to the second trend
It is by far the biggest trend of ecommerce, because not only in tier 1, but also in tier 2 and 3, people have completely shifted towards ecommerce, because they want their products to be delivered in 10 mins.
And right now, you will see this in limited industries like food, wellness, health, but soon, quick commerce will shift to fashion, apparel, electronics, etc.
And the reason it is going to disrupt the industry, in today’s time, no one wants to wait for long.
And that is the reason that big corporations like Shiprocket, Amazon, and Flipkart are switching to 10-15 minutes delivery soon.
So, that’s your sign, start adopting quick commerce, because this trend will easily put you way ahead of the competition— INSTANTLY.
And if you want to know what works for indian e-commerce in 2025, here's a FREE video I created for it;
Today, whatever shopping is happening, 64% is influencer-based, i.e.
If an influencer suggests a product, that product gets purchased at a much faster rate, and I can surely say, Social commerce is the next big thing.
And that is proven, because recent research tells us that most of the shopping happening right now is discovery-based, meaning people are not taking much time to buy the product.
They are mostly purchasing through social media influencers, because trusting an influencer is comparatively easier than trusting an unknown brand.
And new report by the Economic Times confirms this, with 86% of new products being discovered through social commerce.
The next big shift coming is AI integration.
The AI integration into the market isn’t going to stop anytime soon because every other day, you are seeing a new AI update.
For example, ChatGPT has launched a new feature where it gives product recommendations, too.
This tells us that AI is set to take over intent-based marketing, as it is set to disrupt many other features of digital marketing.
And you can see for yourself that so many AI tools are coming to the market, which are automating most of the ecommerce processes, like tracking to delivery to payments, or even content writing.
With AI doing all these things, not only can you cut your business costs by half, but also make your business much more efficient.
Whether you want to automate WhatsApp or Instagram DM through AI, you can do all these things seamlessly through AI.
So if you aren’t moving towards automation and using AI to its fullest, then you are potentially losing an ocean of potential clients.
Again, I am not saying you should put your entire ecommerce business on AI automation, but wherever it’s necessary, you must be using AI.
