Is It Bad To Pause Facebook Ads? Will The Performance Decrease?

Don't Let Your Campaigns Go Dry this summer!

Have you ever been running a perfectly optimized Facebook ad campaign, generating fantastic results, only to have it all come crashing down when your ad account gets drained? This situation can strike fear into the heart of any advertiser.

This recently happened to me while working with some new clients. We had winning ad creatives, and a detailed targeting audience, and sales were going well. Then, one day all of a sudden ads stopped performing – the account drained, ads paused, and all our progress stalled.

The campaign was performing well until it had an amount to spend.

As you can see, the per-purchase cost skyrocketed, as the ad account did not have enough money.

Ever wondered why? The answer to this question is pretty simple a "missing credit card" on the ad account.

For anyone serious about running Facebook Ads, having a credit card linked to your Ads Manager account isn't optional - it's essential. Here's why:

No Pause No Drama

A linked credit card ensures uninterrupted ad delivery. Facebook charges you as your ads run, so having a payment method is super important, This is crucial for maintaining momentum and campaign performance.

Campaign Flexibility

Credit cards work here as petrol, like imagine you're going on a road trip, the fuel tank is full and you don't need to worry about extra miles, similarly, you can adjust your budget and optimize campaigns on the fly. This allows you to run multiple ads without any roadblocks.

By being proactive with your payment information, you avoid unnecessary disruptions. This also makes you free from asking your clients every other day to add funds and just in case both the parties miss it the ads will be dead in No time.

Reason Why It Happens?

The main reason is when your ad account has no money to spend it is like a plane crash, which won't be able to fly again as it's already done.

Meta's Ai algorithm trains better when working consistently and over time they become well aware of your product and target audience and the sales become better overtime but when the account's spend goes 0, And later adding the budget back again and resuming the campaign will make the Ai algorithm's think " What if this is a different product and it requires different target audience" and just because of this the ads stop converting well.

Many a times the ads will recover but it might again take a day or two and that extra spend with less sales is obviously a straightforward loss that can't be recovered thus having a consistent flow of money in the ads account is essential.

Always have a backup option by your side, to avoid mishappens. I learned this from girls!

And, a wise man once said precautions are better than cure, just kidding XD Wise men said this twice!

Hope this helped you.

Until then, Happy Digital Learning 😍
